Derbyshire businesswomen, Yvonne Gorman, is celebrating having been recognised as the Digital & Creative Ambassador of the Year at the Mainframe awards. Yvonne is owner of Essential Print Services.

The award was presented to Yvonne at the virtual awards ceremony and was the headline category of the evening. Having been voted for by the public, the award recognises those who are a champion for Derby and Derbyshire and who are focussed on making the region the very best place for creative businesses to set-up and thrive.

Yvonne is an active member of the Derby business community and is committed to helping other local businesses succeed. Alongside running Essential Print Services, Yvonne volunteers for several initiatives. She has played a key role in the nationwide Small Business Saturday UK campaign which, as well as seeing her visit Downing Street to represent small businesses, has also led to great success and exposure for many Derby companies.

In 2019, she was appointed to the Marketing Derby Board of Directors to help ensure that Derby’s creative and digital sectors have representation from a fellow creative. She also volunteers for the Federation of Small Businesses and hosts free, monthly networking events which are currently held online and are well supported by more than 40 delegates across the country.

She’s arranged free workshops for businesses to attend and made many national news media appearances discussing issues facing small business owners including BBC News, BBC Radio 2, BBC Radio 4 and Forbes magazine as well as being a Local Partner for Creative Mornings.

Yvonne commented, “The Mainframe awards are a fantastic way of uniting the local creative community so I’m over the moon to have won this, particularly as it was voted for by the public. It’s been such a tough year for everyone and small businesses have faced so many challenges – I’m honoured to be representing them.”
