Businesses are being encouraged to use the summer to plan their events for the Leicester Business Festival with the closing date for applications on 4 September, looming.
The 2019 Business Festival, headline partnered by Leicester Castle Business School, will take place from 29 October to 8 November.
Anyone can apply to run an event as part of the programme. The theme can be about anything, so long as the event stands to benefit the businesses and people in the region by creating a forum where others can listen, learn, share, engage, network, question or debate.
Another aim of the business Festival is to drive interest in Leicester and Leicestershire from an investment, or business development perspective, and events that help to positively place this region in a national spotlight are also welcome. This could include economic, sectoral or investment showcases or events that debate or address national business challenges, for example.
Scott Charlish, head of East Midlands financial planning at wealth management firm, Brewin Dolphin, is chair of the Business Festival Steering Group. He said “I recommend businesses use the summer period, which for many is a quieter time of year, to finalise their event plans and get their applications in.
“Where at all possible, we try and manage the programme to minimise clashes of similar-themed events. As there are already quite a few headline events in the programme, by submitting applications sooner rather than later, businesses stand a better chance of securing their preferred choice of date and time, as all applications are treated on a first come, first served basis.
“The Steering Group are looking for ‘quality’ events that are interesting, useful and exciting to businesses or have a focus that encourages people from far and wide to come to the Festival and see what Leicester and Leicestershire has to offer. We want to work with all the businesses to make sure their events are not only individually outstanding but also combine to make up an exceptional 2019 Festival programme.”
Applications must be submitted via the website www.leicesterbusinessfestival.com by Wednesday 4 September.
Headline partnered by Leicester Castle Business School, the Leicester Business Festival is celebrating its fifth anniversary this year. It has continued to grow in presence over the years and topping a marketing circulation of 37 million and involving in excess of 1,200 businesses in 2018.
Sponsors and partners this year so far include De Montfort University Leicester Castle Business School, East Midlands Chamber, East Midlands Airport, LLEP Business Gateway, Brewin Dolphin, Patterson Commercial Law, FSB, the University of Leicester and Shakespeare Martineau. The Festival is also supported by Everards Brewery, Harborough District Council and Bradgate Estates.
